NYC Subway Grid is a free daily puzzle game about the New York City subway. Every night at midnight a new 3×3 grid appears. Each row and each column has a rule, such as Red lines (1 2 3), Brooklyn, Above ground or “Av” in name. Fill every square with a subway station that fits both its row and its column.
The twist is rarity. Most squares have dozens of right answers, and the quieter the station, the more it scores. Times Sq–42 St might fit, but a sleepy stop at the end of the line is worth far more. A perfect grid scores 900. When you finish, see where you rank among everyone who played today, then share your ride with friends.
All 424 subway stations are in play, from the 1 train in the Bronx to the A in the Rockaways. Rules mix line colors, boroughs, neighborhoods by the water, elevated stations and the letters in station names, so even lifelong New Yorkers find something new.
Tap a square and type a station that fits its row and column rules. You get 3 wrong guesses per square, and each station can be used once.
Each square has many right answers. The fewer riders a station has compared with the other answers for that square, the more it scores: 10, 30, 60, 85 or 100 points.
